Superman Fliegenfänger Fly Paper
No Way Out. Fly Paper.
In the Middle Ages, one caught birds with the aid of a limestick (stick with glue on it). Which is not too far removed from the German expression, "jemandem auf den Leim gehen", or to be taken in by someone. Be that as it may, the Superman fly catcher continues to do the job. It consists of a bright yellow, fragrant strip hung from the ceiling on a tack, in order to attract and catch flies and fruit flies. The strip is coated with glue, which will spell an end for a fly landing on it. If you want to give the flies a chance to either escape or die quickly, there is always the venerable fly swatter. If they continually escape, then you're better off with Superman.
Glue Made of Natural Materials.
Superman fly paper has been in business since 1928, when Hans Utz founded his fly paper factory based on an old glue recipe of honey, natural rubber, resin and oils: It contains no insecticides or other chemical ingredients, in keeping with the Blue Angel environmental seal. The firm is still in family hands, in the third generation, with production still in Germany. The ingredients for the glue are also the same, but the production and name have evolved over the years: in the 1960s the second generation switched to automated production and changed the name "Weltruf" to "Superman Fliegenfänger".
