Schladming Fulled Knit Mittens
The Original: the Schladming Fulled Knit Mittens.
The name of these mittens is referring to the famous Schladming Loden that is produced in Austria’s Tauern and has become a generic name that is used by a multitude of inferior quality skiing mittens. These, on the other hand, are the real thing: they’re made in Schladming from the wool of local mountain sheep on hand-knitting machines and then fulled into water- and snow-repellent loden cloth. At Schladming, they master the challenge to full the loden cloth into variant sizes – no ‘one size fits all’ here! The facing on the palms is vegetable tanned goatskin leather by Austrian specialist Eska.
Glover in the Fourth Generation. The Eska Leather Glove Factory.
In 1912, the family business Eska, then still Eska & Dutka, was founded in the Bohemian town of Karlovy Vary. In its fourth generation, they manufacture first-class, sturdy leather products for professional use, as well as fine gloves for everyday use. However, they have no everyday, but first-class quality. In purely manual fine manufacturing, the leather is precisely cut for each of the models and skillfully sewn into a glove with the best fit.
