A German champion that comes from France!
This table-football set was made for fifty years by a Nuremberg firm who called it the ‘German Champion’. It went out of business in 2011, giving up its license to the experienced French firm of Stella Loisirs in Tourcoing (northern France). These now make the players in the same good old style as their predecessors, so we decided to include it in our range. The table is made of
30-mm-thick cut wood (the outer half of ply-wood with oak finish, the inner of white water-and beer-proof beech). The screw-on legs are robust enough to stand up to the merriest of games. The field of play is of
9-mm-thick heat-resistant ply-wood with raised, unjointed corners and with a slate-like playing surface that allows the ball to be ‘passed’ quietly and accurately.
The ’score-card’ is made of nostalgic rings of beech-wood, which is also used for many other traditional details, like the ball ejection mechanism and the upper body protective slats.
