Nigel Cabourn Cameraman’s jacket
Ready to Shoot! The Cameraman’s jacket.
Nigel Cabourn has the hood, shoulders, chest, upper back and sleeves of this long “Cameraman Jacket” made of a tightly woven, breathable cotton cloth. Harris tweed, the hand-woven fabric from the Outer Hebridean Islands of Harris, Lewis, Uist or Barra, provides freedom of movement in the lower section. Some details of the highly functional cut of the jacket are also remarkable: The hood features metal eyelets in the area of the ears so that the wearer is not cut off acoustically from the outside world. You can adjust the hood in width with a leather cord (complete with elaborately bound cord ends and leather cord stoppers). The six patch flap pockets – you find some of them on top of each other – can hold all kinds of small parts. Two vertically inserted buttoned openings provide access to utensils worn closer to the body when the jacket is closed. You can fold out a flap contrasting in coloured fabric and fixed with zipper and press studs inside if you want to lengthen the jacket. A two-way metal zipper by Riri makes for easy closing; ventilation eyelets provide ventilation under the arms.
