Ready for anything: chamois tanned leather.
The chamois tanned buckskin is one of those old, complicated tanning processes that produce incomparably beautiful and durable leather. Chamois tanned deer leather is soft as a glove, warm, almost woolly to the touch and capable of regulating temperature. We obtain it from the Saxon traditional tannery Müller, founded in 1830 in Nossen, Germany; the production process is very complex and takes almost a whole year to complete. The transformation of the protein fibers into leather fibers stems from the oxidation of animal fats and oils, which are incorporated between the fibers. The color is applied by hand in several steps, and the cut edges display the yellow reverse side still typical for this type of tanning.
Slight color variations are natural and due to the authenticity of the material.
