Maria Laach Low-Drip Teapot
No Never Drip but Low-Drip. Teapot from the Benedictine Monastery of Maria Laach.
This teapot started out as a project on commission. The task for the ceramic workshop was to develop a teapot with a sufficient volume and a spout design that minimised dripping. A successful search was done, and an archetype found among the old Bogler models. With the necessary adjustments in design, the spout got an alternate form. The handle solution, with an attached leather strap which can be replaced when necessary, contributes to stability and minimises drip in the act of pouring. With its deep lip, the lid is protected from falling out. Nota bene: an absolutely drip free teapot will always be an ideal, but this pot shows that minimising the drip is indeed possible.
