Linen Dish Towel

The French weaving mill Charvet uses strong, undyed linen yarns (Nm 6) for these robust, canvas-bound kitchen towels. Durable, hard-wearing and ready for service for many years to come, they give off a grainy feel. Thanks to their abundant material weight, they are incredibly absorbent and can – laid double or triple – even replace the potholder. The Charvet weaving mill’s history started more than 100 years ago in the small town of Armentières, on the border with Flanders. Still based in the middle of one of the traditional flax-growing regions in Europe, Charvet specializes in linen and cotton fabrics production. Their range includes the robust linen fabrics that were once essential textiles for bakeries (toiles de boulangerie) and French workwear (for example, “vareuses” or pea jackets for fishermen), as well as tent tarpaulins and sailcloth fabrics besides kitchen towels.
