An old treasure. Re-released.
An old workbag like this one was
brought into the former saddler’s Friedrich
Lünses company in Havelland – near Berlin – for repair. Since the reunification
of Germany, this company only
carried out repairs. After some minor
work, the bag was ready to be used
again despite its 60 years of frequent
use. Without further ado, the decision
was made to produce a bag of this kind
again – in the same quality and workmanship
as back then.
Sewn by hand.
From the cutting to the last stitch, it is
handmade today like it was 100 years
ago. No machines are used. The front,
back and bottom are made from one
piece of strong leather; the recessed
side panels provide a wide shape and
stability. A second layer of leather reinforces
the double stitched carry straps.
Only vegetable-tanned and moderately
greased sleek leather is used. Its stain
has made it durable, water-repellent
and stain resistant.
