Kaweco Supra Brass Fountain Pen
Article Number 12790
The fountain pen for every occasion. The Kaweco Supra.
The four-part pen consists of a cap, the front section with the nib, a rear section and a midsection. Each section has a thread (the mid-section has two threads) hence they can be screwed together. Depending on the necessities of the occasion, the pen is versatile applicable in three lengths. For instance, a fountain pen for official signing ceremonies, in the twinkling of an eye, or better, the twisting of a pen, can be deconstructed into a handy writing implement for daily use. And can be transformed into an even shorter pen, a companion for on the road that can be discretely (and securely) tucked into a pocket.
The variability in length and the nib distinguish the Supra from the smaller Liliput. The nib of the Supra is much bigger and comes in five widths, for different purposes. For example, the extra fine nib (EF) is good for entries in calendars or spreadsheets, while the double-width (BB) is intended for signatures. The width of the nib sets the margin for the shape of the typeface and the ink consumption. To pre-empt the danger of running out of ink, the pen has space for a second cartridge, if the midsection is in use.
Since the housing made of turned brass is unfinished, it can acquire a patina depending on your preferences to use, store or transport it. The corpus and the construction are simple. The cap is threaded inside, either to shut tight or to extend the length of the pen.
