Kaweco Special Mechanical Pencil
Article Number 43734
An archetypal mechanical pencil.
The born-again mechanical pencil originally produced in 1910 by Kaweco in Heidelberg was produced in endless variations, among them the "Rationell" and "Special" models – so it can hardly be called new. It is a mature development.
The three advantages.
The born-again Kaweco Special compares favorably with its predecessor in several ways. Instead of celluloid or ebonite, the barrel is made from durable, black anodized aluminum, and the former twisting me-chanism has given way to a more contemporary and stable feed mechanism with a lead reservoir. There are four versions of the mechanical pencil to be used with leads of different thicknesses – different leads for different strokes.
Drop action pencils, propelling pencils and rectable pencils have two things in store the wooden pencil cannot provide:
1.) They are available in a variety of mine formats, which in turn are catering to a variety of purposes - from technical drawing to large-format sketching and signing, and 2.) they are sustainable because they are refillable.
