Japanese Face Towel
Modern Fabric, Traditional Pattern.
To make these light towels – and the two following towels – Uchino combines two fabrics: a white terry fabric on one side and a white, linen-weave fabric on the other, printed either with a blue and white diamond pattern or narrow blue stripes. Both patterns, the diamonds and the stripes, traditionally appear in Japanese kimono fabrics.
Textile Specialities. From Japan.
The bathroom textiles from Tokyo manufacturer Uchino have exceptional textile qualities. Special weaving techniques are used and the fabrics are dyed with natural dyes or with charcoal as a mineral dyestuff.
The yarn count is indicated in Nm (Number metric) according to the principle: the higher the number, the finer the yarn. A yarn count of Nm 100 means that 100 metres of yarn weigh 1 gram. Another number is added if the yarn is twisted from several threads, for example Nm 100/3 for a yarn consisting of three single threads.
