One tumbler for many beverages.
Up to 7 million coffee to go cups are disposed of in the UK every day – over 2.5 billion every year. If you include the cups for cold drinks, the number rises to more than 5 billion. Why not just bring your own tumbler to the counter? Contrary to the assertion of many café operators, it is legal, but they're not obligated to oblige you. However, you bear liability if impurities occur and filling the tumbler might cause a health problem afterwards. For most people, that's reason enough not to have their own tumblers filled even though such a case is unknown to date. Fortunately, there are more and more cafés which offer the possibility when you bring your own tumbler to have it filled.
Insulated Tumbler for Warm or Cold Beverages.
A coffee from your favourite café that you can take with you or an ice cold drink to enjoy at your leisure – that's convenient, especially if the cup to go is insulated and can keep the contents hot or cold for a time. That's why Klean Kanteen® make their tumblers from double walled vacuum insulated stainless steel: beverages maintain their temperatures for hours. Each tumbler comes with a lid designed with a drink opening. As a good companion for people on the go the tumbler’s lid closes in a way that (almost) nothing stands a chance to spill. If you don’t want to risk any misfortunes when life is like a roller-coaster ride another lid is separately available, tightly closing the tumbler, which features a manually openable drink opening and a smaller opening for a drinking straw.
And, to make it easy to keep track of your tumbler in the office or along the way, we offer them in different colours as well as an unpainted version. Please clean the thermos tumblers by hand because when subjected to the large temperature differences in the dishwasher the vacuum can't be guaranteed, and the paint won't hold up in the dishwasher, either.
With its stainless steel vessels, the California family run firm of Klean Kanteen® offers clean alternatives to one-way cups and bottles. In ten years what started out as water bottles has become a broad palette of vessels for transporting food in stainless steel: the material of choice because it is neutral in taste and odour and comes without either aluminium or Bisphenol-A (BPA). In contrast to aluminium and plastic, stainless steel is considered an inert material which will neither chemically react with food nor release particles. Vessels made of stainless steel are extremely stable and long-lasting. The containers from Klean Kanteen® are functional and, a plus, attractively designed. Klean Kanteen® has their vessels made in China where they regularly control the production facilities in order to guarantee that their firm’s environment-friendly standards and guidelines for fair working arrangements and conditions are being maintained. As a member of "1% for the Planet", Klean Kanteen® contributes at least one percent of its revenues for environmental projects or educational support from not-for-profit organisations.
Steel does not equal steel.
Klean Kanteen® only processes rust proof 18/8-stainless steel, and they insist upon applying it in a larger thickness than is customary, which makes Klean Kanteen® products significantly more robust than other stainless steel vessels. They'll stand up to a beating without being any less portable. Even the threads are mostly made of stainless steel, which also contributes to the long life of the vessels.
The vessels are painted if and only if differentiation is called for, good examples are the drinking tumblers: in addition to the stainless steel version they come in four colours. All lettering is laser engraved. The bottle caps are made of stainless steel, bamboo and silicone, as is used in medical technology.
Rounded off corners. Smooth threads.
To be reused over and over again the vessels have to be easy to clean. Klean Kanteen® manufactures them with rounded off corners and smooth, widely spaced threads. The surface insides are electro-polished and so smooth that dirt has a hard time clinging to them. And if something should indeed dry up in the vessel, the inside is easily accessible for cleaning through the wide opening. Except for the vacuum-insulated ones the stainless steel vessels can be put in the dishwasher. Please, wash the double-walled vessels by hand because it can’t be guaranteed that the vacuum between the walls will withstand the major temperature differences in the dishwasher; the same applies to the painted surfaces.
