Ideal steel spade / shovel
Two in one – Spade and shovel.
This garden tool can be used in a variety of ways. The blade is tilted at a slight angle to the handle – unlike a spade – and has a pointed tip that cuts into the soil better. It's also good for turning soil over, though not suitable for very hard, clayey or stony ground. It has a serrated edge to cut through ordinary garden weeds. The blade's concave shape means that it's ideal for gathering and scattering loose compost, mulch or sand, but it can also be used for making holes when planting out. The blade is made of extra-hard boron steel – a metal that combines flexibility with resistance to wear-and-tear. The 'two-in-one' spade/shovel was invented by a German firm (Idealspaten) in the 1960s, and is now offered by us in a new, improved version.
