Goethe’s Water Glass

General Information
The Poet and the Glass.
This simple glass is mouth-blown in Saxony-Anhalt. It has a modern-looking shape; however, the design has a long tradition. Even Goethe had had such a glass in his house at his Frauenplan address in Weimar in use. (According to what we know about the drinking habits of the Privy Council, however, it may well have been more often filled with wine than with water.) The original is on display in the Goethe Museum in Weimar.
Please note:
Please do not put hand-blown glass in the dishwasher.
