Our foot has three stress points – the base joints at the big toes, small toes, and bottom external border -; the foot arches are stretched between these “pillars.” There is a diagonal arch and two long arches, which function, to a degree, as the spring when running and jumping. The arches are anatomically predefined, but are additionally supported by muscles and tendons. Due to deficient strength and inappropriate strain or overburdening, the arches can fall, and this can lead to pain or foster the formation of flat foot, skewed foot, and splayfoot, or a Hallux valgus (the tilted position of a large toe). Often this occurs when people wear fashionable shoes that are frequently too tight or too small. A differentiated, functional training of the foot and calf muscles, which takes into account anatomy and daily strains, does not change the shape of the foot, but, instead, promotes strength and coordination, and with it the stability of the leg- and foot axles that have a huge influence on the stasis of our bodies.

The convex side of the axles trainer is adapted to the natural contortion of the foot: while the heel is raised, the front of the foot, in relation to the heel, is rotated slightly inwards; consequently, the base joint of the big and small toe can be stressed. In this physiological position for the foot and leg axles, the feet muscles are initially actively strained. When this feels comfortable, you can train with increasing stress. The device can be used as a balancing gyroscope by placing it with the flat side upwards on a non-slip mat. In this manner you can train the leg axle stabilisers – and, when appropriate, with increasing resistance. Your feet muscles must work together in a well-coordinated manner, in order to maintain balance. An extensive exercise book is included with the delivery.
