Folkdays Hand-Woven Baby-Alpaca Scarf
Peruvian Fringe Scarf. With a Zig-Zag Pattern.
The finest alpaca fleece is called Baby-Alpaca. It is often taken from the first shearing from younger animals but fleece shorn from adult animals with a fibre fineness between 20.1 and 23 microns is also called Baby-Alpaca.The Berlin Fair-Fashion-Label Folkdays has this scarf made of Peruvian alpaca knit on site. The idea for the pattern was developed by a team working with the founder of the firm, Lisa Jaspers, together with Peruvian artisans and then realized in small shops. This kind of sustainable production which supports the local economy is of equal importance as the use of high-quality materials for the team. That's Folkdays' way of stemming the tide of 'fast food' fashion.
Folkdays. Fair Fashion and Social Commitment.
The idea for Folkdays, the Berlin label for fairly traded clothing and accessories, grew out of a passion for good design and the desire to support people in the Third World. The concepts for the products are developed by a team including the founder, Lisa Jaspers, and local craftspeople in Bangladesh, India, Cambodia, Thailand or Peru. The clothes are then produced in small factories and workshops. High-quality materials enjoy the same priority as sustainable production which above all supports the local economy in developing and emerging countries. Folkdays takes a deliberate stand against the fast turnover in the world of fashion and considers itself a platform which aims for an interconnection of manufacturers and customers.
