Farm Tractor with Functional Steering, Clockwork Spring and Selectable Gears.
In 1869, Johann Georg Fahr bought the Neumühle in Gottmadingen and founded his agricultural machinery factory. It was only almost 70 years later, in 1938, that it produced its first tractor, the Fahr F 22, which met with some success. Because of its large steering angle and individual wheel brakes, it was possible to turn the tractor on a dime. It has been particularly popular with customers who used several different types of harvesters, since they were able to operate all equipment with it, without having it refitted.
This model – built between 1938 and 1941, during which time about 450 Fahr F 22 left the production halls in Gottmadingen – was fitted with the 22 hp Deutz engine and painted in the bright red typically used for Fahr agricultural machinery. We offer this Fahr F 22 as a faithful replica of the original; its clockwork spring mechanism has three selectable forward gears and one reverse, with functional steering and handbrake. This model – as well as the matching tipping trailer and potato sling – is made by Kovap in Nový Hrádek, Czech Republic.
