Christmas Tree Glass Ball with Wave Ornaments
Waves captured in glass
Kurt Schlitt applies the same strict criteria for quality and material that he uses in his medical technology work in order to produce these Christmas ornaments. He proves his craftsmanship in the uniform spherical forms, the straight line course of the waves and the accuracy and evenness of their intervals. When struck by light, the glass objects project a very clear pattern on their surroundings. They are free-formed in an open flame and blown from borosilicate glass, which also withstands thermal stress and is used in medical technology as well as for glass dishes. The eyelet for hanging also employs Wilhelm Wagenfeld’s idea for pulling an eyelet from the glass as it holds true for our Lauscha Christmas ornaments, making a separate device for hanging unnecessarily. These Christmas tree ornaments with waves are only available from us.
Christmas Decorations from Baden-Württemberg.
These Christmas tree ornaments are made nearby to Heilbronn, nicknamed the "Käthchenstadt" after Heinrich von Kleist’s famous romantic play "The Käthchen von Heilbronn" from 1808. The Design of the decorations is based on historical models from the Biedermeier period. A master glassblower makes them using traditional glassblowing craftsmanship. He’s otherwise involved in the production of optical components for medical technology which require the highest degree of precision.
