CD: Zwiesprache der Liebe – A Dialogue of Love
Those Who Love, Must Sing.
Love and song have been closely allied from time immemorial. The bible also played a role in this dynamic relationship with the Song of Songs. And the Gregorian chorales have their roots in the Song of Solomon showing this basis to some extent in chorales which are meditative in tone and in others which are virtuoso in their expressiveness. All these pieces exist only in archives our days and are no longer used in the liturgy. On this CD they are performed in five poems which celebrate the dialogue between a man and woman. The five pieces are sung soloistic by members of the Munich Scholaren.
In addition, the young Munich composer Severin Dornier has added seven compositions of his own which add depth to the atmosphere of love. The young musicians Andrii Slota (harpsichord), Laura Dümpelmann (recorder) and Manuel Mittelbach (oboe) premiered the music on this CD in the large concert hall of the Munich College Hochschule für Musik und Theater.
