Candle with Channels Made of Stearin
Article Number 15819
Northern Lights – Candlelight Without Dripping.
These candles were originally developed for use in churches, where the flow of air would cause smaller candles to drip incessantly until they melted away. The "Kanalljus", meanwhile, would hardly flicker or drip. The relatively high melting point of stearin makes the candle burn with a sharp, even edge, rather than one that tilts and begins to drip. An additional benefit of the high melting point of stearin: even high ambient temperatures do not cause the candle to bend - its shape remains stable. After being extinguished, the liquid wax solidifies very quickly, and there is no afterglow of the wick.
