Brooks Small Shoulder Bag
For A City Stroll and Bicycle Ride. Or Both.
The saddles by Brooks in Smethwick, England are legendary. There is hardly any other firm which as much experience in processing the rugged butt leather. Drawing on their considerable experience with this material the firm is now producing shoulder bags from it. In collaboration with the Royal College of Art in London, Brooks has developed sophisticated but practical bags, which in addition to the same leather as the saddles, use the same manufacturing procedure and machines. Design and dimension are based on the B17-saddle. The front and back side of the bags are each made from a piece of shaped leather whose sides are bent around and fastened to a 5.5 cm wide, 5 mm thick frame, also made of butt leather. The frame determines the depth of the bag and lends it stability. No additional sewing or gluing is needed. The bags are just as long-lived as the saddles and in the rare case that might arise can be repaired.
The flap is closed with a button fastener, the leather straps are adjusted likewise with a button fastener, in order to attach them to the top tube of the bicycle or the seat support, or on the belt.
