Beechwood Shoe Rack

After wearing shoes should be aired. Here, the best is to stretch them on shoetrees made of wood which has a hygroscopic effect. Shoes with leather soles should be positioned on the side so that the sole can breathe and the shoe can dry. Shoes should not be put into a closed shoe cupboard immediately after wearing.
Even better than airing leather shoes on their sides is placing them on this shoe rack made of solid beechwood. Each row has enough space for three pairs of men's shoes or four pairs of women's shoes.
For this rack, only native beechwood – previously steamed for heavy-duty use and against warping – is used. Before oiling, the planed wood is sand finished so that it loses its rough surface. As protection against moisture, the wood is oiled twice with natural boiled linseed oil. The rack is not glued, but screwed with brass slotted screws (so that it can be disassembled at any time).
