Scandinavian Clarity. Knitted Goods by Andersen-Andersen.
When the Danish couple Cathrine Lundgren-Andersen and Peter Kjær-Andersen started manufacturing knitwear their sole objective was to design and knit the one and only sailors' jumper. They began by collecting older samples, some from the Danish navy, thoroughly examining them and eliminating every unnecessary detail and, by process of elimination, arrived at the desired form. With the guiding design principle of "keep it simple" in mind, for the most part, the Andersens' no-frills jumpers are symmetrically knit: the front and back are identical, whereby it doesn't matter how the jumper is worn. Their approach to fabric was just as focused as the one they used for the form: they searched for something rugged, durable, and soft - and something that would keep you warm. In the end, the couple decided to have an especially firm Merino yarn developed for their knitwear. The yarn is processed in an Italian family knitting mill with a long-standing experience in dealing with special yarns.
