We Take a Bow to Experience.
Or to put it another way, we shake hands with it! The Steiner family, who provide us with the materials for these gloves, have five generations’ worth of experience in the production of superb hard wearing gloves – always made of 100% natural materials like loden, lambskin and kangaroo leather. From the very beginning Steiner loden gloves had to stand up to the hardest tests mountain-climbing has to offer – the South wall of the Dachstein, for example, conquered by the first Herr Steiner.
It’s no accident that the exclusive methods of production perfected by this firm were first developed in an area where tough, hard-wearing clothing is so essential. The old-established firm Eska have designed and produced this particular glove for us. The loden cloth is finished and shaped to fit the hand. The lining is of undyed, curly lambs-wool. The kangaroo leather – famous for its tear-resistant qualities – is used in generous quantities for the palm and fingers, and also in the transitional area between hand and wrist requiring the insertion of narrow leather strips.
The gloves are ideal for cycling in winter and for all forms of skiing. The loden cloth with its milled surface is wind- and rain-resistant, but at the same time breathable.
