It is remarkably tough and long-lived, a quality the pit-tanned, 3,5–3,8 mm thick harness leather gets from very intense greasing (the leather contains 20% fat, 8% being the average). The buckle – solid brass, silver-coloured, galvanised without nickel, is saddle-stitched to the belt by hand. Approx. 4 cm wide, 5 belt holes, waxed edges.
