Everyday writing instruments are subject to fashion. Manufacturers take advantage of this and produce new designs with alarming regularity. This speaks volumes for pens which can rise above this and still be on the market after decades. We have put together a selection of these. We have also added a few which personal experience tells us will endure.

The M150 is one of the small Pelikan pens, and the nib is simple steel rather than the gold of the more expensive models. However do not let that fool you. Mine is now over 10 years of and gets the rough jobs, thrown into bags and back pockets yet the clip is strong and firm and its body uncracked or diminished. The flow of Pelikan pens is fantastic ,yet you will rarely end up with a cap full of ink despite it. The plunger system is easy, and the nibs can be replaced without need to send the whole pen away. If you enjoy writing, you'll enjoy the Pelikan
