Bathroom wall striplights – made of brass.

These lamps are vertically mounted on the wall with a fitted holder of solid brass (chrome-plated) and hand-blown matt glass bulbs. The triple-layer matt glass ensures an even distribution of soft, relaxing light in the bathroom. Use alone or in pairs or groups – give your imagination free play! Made in Germany.

IP reference numbers for electric devices:

There are two figures. The first tells you the degree of protection from contact with foreign bodies (dust etc.); the second from water. The higher the number, the greater the protection. IP 44 is usual for the bathroom. Further details under www.manufactum.de/ipreferencenumbers.

Lamps, humidity and damp areas: IP protection.

Lamps for use in bathrooms or other, equally difficult humid environments, are subject to very strict safety regulations. The IP ratings (Index of Protection) you find stated with the lamps indicate their level of resistance against solid particles (i.e. dust) in the first of the two digits and protection against humidity in the second digit. A lamp with a given IP value of IP 20 should not be installed closer to a tap or sink than 60 cm, IP 44 indicates lamps which can be installed closer to water. IP 64 lamps are even suitable for outdoor installation.
