70% cotton, 30% viscose. Thread fineness: warp and weft Nm 70/2, looped pile Nm 50, weight of material 384 g/sq. m. 25 x 25 cm.
This is a fine pocket cloth made of a viscose and cotton mixture with a canvas mesh weave on one side and absorbent terry towelling on the other. The viscose threads have been dyed with a carbon product, giving one side an odour-absorbent and anti-bacterial effect, while the other side dries you like any other good hand towel. We've included this remarkable cloth in our handkerchief range: but please note that in the Japanese culture, unlike Europe, public nose-blowing is a no-no, so a cloth like this would only be used in Japan to wipe off sweat or to dry one's hands.
In this chapter you will find a range of high-quality clothing - not high-fashion, but not unfashionable either - simply timeless clothing far removed from and unaffected by short-lived trends. Our first concern here is always the fabric and its quality. Our methods are always the same: we look for the »classic« fabric for each item of clothing, then we find the best British or continental manufacturer of that fabric, and finally the most skilful clothing manufacturer. In other words, we are trying to reintroduce more British and European content into our clothing range - as opposed to the current trends in the industry, trends which we think have not only undermined quality but have virtually wiped out a sector of industry which has shaped so much of our industrial and cultural history.
