Once again: exclusive 2-ply twill at its best. Ladies' town coat.

This kind of quality is usually only found in men's-shirts at the very top of the range – real 2-ply twill. To find it in a ladies' collection is quite something! The material comes from Solbiati in Varese, Italy. From it we've made a comfortable but sporty ladies' coat for those cooler autumn days, with a host of small details that your friends will certainly notice and admire.

Cut and finish.

A double-breasted, calf-length fully-fashioned coat with a high collar and detachable yoke. The three-way cut gives the coat an extremely elegant line. The upper part is rather close-fitting, emphasizing the figure, while the long lower vent, going right up to the waist, gives the coat an easy, generous look. The middle part – the waist-band – is 8 cm wide with a smart-looking belt. The yoke is a particularly stylish detail, apart from giving extra warmth and comfort when needed (can be detached on warmer days). The back / front of the coat are partially / fully lined with reinforced viscose-croisé. Many of the details, like the water buffalo-horn buttons, have been exclusively designed for this coat. It has two roomy side pockets and an inside breast pocket with zip fastener.

From head to toe.

In other words, we are trying to reintroduce more British and European content into our clothing range - as opposed to the current trends in the industry, trends which we think have not only undermined quality but have virtually wiped out a sector of industry which has shaped so much of our industrial and cultural history.

In praise of the coat.

A woollen coat is no longer indispensable as a means of protection against the elements. That role has now passed to the car, which has the singular disadvantage of not being able to be left in a cloakroom or hung on a hook.
