The renowned Lufft barometer factory was founded in Fellbach in 1881, and up to the mid-sixties made a variety of measuring instruments and barometers for both private and commercial use. In recent years the increasing mass-production of articles of this kind has resulted in a drop in quality and price. Lufft's wish to dissociate itself from this trend has led to a change-over to the construction of specialized electronic environmental survey stations and measuring instruments. Today Lufft is a successful high-tech company with a copybook business track record.
For this reason, the manufacture of everyday consumer articles is only a side-concern for Lufft, particularly as the costs of production, compared with the cheap imports flooding the market nowadays, have necessarily led to rather uncompetitive prices. Lufft are nevertheless unwilling to abandon this side of their business entirely. A sense of tradition and love of precision engineering are one reason: another is a more rational one, namely the young personnel in their engineering department. Precision engineering is the only way that up-and-coming young members of staff can learn how to make electronic instruments. And this is how we are able to offer these mechanical meteorological instruments from Fellbach, which look back uncompromisingly to an unwavering standard of traditional precision engineering.
We are the sole retailers of all of the articles from Lufft you find in our range of goods!
Lufft, a company based near the heart of German mechanical engineering in Stuttgart, has been manufacturing its world-famous precision measuring appliances since 1881.
