Lorenz Bolz invented this musical spinning top in 1880. Today, as then, it is manufactured entirely from metal, with a wooden handle. Whilst this beautiful article attempts to remain spinning contrary to all friction, it plays - what could be more suitable for a spinning top? - something like quiet music of the spheres. The spinning top, which is also mechanically sound, runs for approximately 1.5 to 2 minutes.
