This light, compact training device uses the same principle found in the traditional children’s toy made out of button and thread – the two holes in the revolving disc have a rope running through them, which is attached to the two hand-rings. First, the rope is ‘wound up’ so to speak by repeated rotations of the disc. You then pull the handle-rings briskly apart and set the disc in motion, which in turn winds up the rope in the opposite direction. By continuing this rhythmic pulling apart and release action you can get the disc to rotate at a frequency of up to 3500 cycles per minute, which in turn – we hope we’re not being too scientific! – will, with the heavier model, have the same training effect as lifting a 10 kg weight. The difference is that our ‘rotation expander’, as we like to call it, weighs only 170 g (heavier model: 235 g) and can be fitted neatly into your jacket pocket. It helps strengthen your arm and shoulder muscles and is ideal for both general sports training purposes and also for prevention of muscular tension problems caused by bad body posture.
