A zinc galvanizing process makes the surface of this robust, fully welded 2 mm thick steel plate even better suited to withstand the rigours of the weather.The surface »heals« to some extent when scratched and a new »skin« forms to give continued protection: a little bit of benign corrosion protects the metal against serious rust.
The ageing process actually enhances its appearance. A rubber seal around the opening keeps any moisture out. Four openings in the back allow the mail-box to be fixed to a wall or post. A screw-on nameplate (2.6 cm x 7.4 cm), which can be engraved, is supplied with the mail-box.
