100% cotton. Weight of material 400 g/sq. m. Lining 100% viscose-croisé. Genuine buffalo-horn buttons.
Moleskin is a heavy type of cotton not often seen today. With up to 400 stitches per inch the denseness of the weave is legendary. Its inimitable combination of softness and firmness of texture is produced by subjecting the finished cloth to a number of sanding and napping operations.
Our ladies’ moleskin jacket is a garment whose absence from our range has often attracted complaints in the past. No longer! The quality is needless to say identical to that of the gentlemen’s jackets. We started out with heavy cotton, 400 g/sq. m., and tailored it to the short, waisted ladies’ jacket you can see in the illustration. It has one front button, two side flap pockets and one breast pocket, and is fully lined with strong black viscose-croisé. With one inside pocket.
Some wearers prefer the ‘lived-in’ look – the patina that moleskin and leather take on after a year or two of use. If you belong to the other group, you can revive the nap by occasionally brushing it up against the grain. As the outside cloth and the lining are of different materials, we recommend professional dry cleaning.
