The French engineer Jean-Louis Domecq became increasingly irritated by the poor and inflexible light on his desk; so, in the inadequate light of his old lamp, he decided to design a new one. That was in 1958. His efforts resulted in one of the best known and - due to both form and function - most praised desk lamps ever. Four carefully constructed joints with sliding contacts, each with an adjustable screw, can be rotated by 360°, making it impossible to damage the cable when adjusting the lamp. A heavy-duty dual contact switch with porcelain fitting provides the greatest possible safety. This lamp is made of diecast aluminium, tubular and sheet steel. Technically speaking, this lamp is a true masterpiece.
What is more, users swiftly appreciate the somewhat unexpected but extreme flexibility of this large lamp: anyone burning the midnight oil undoubtedly deserves a lamp of such outstanding quality.
