Shoes should always be aired after use. Putting them away immediately in a closed cabinet is not advisable. This shoe rack is made of solid beech each level offers space for three pairs of men's or four pairs of ladies' shoes. The parallel struts, of which the two top levels are slightly offset, help support the heels.
Only the best beech is used to make these shoe racks, and to ensure that the wood does not warp with time and is suitable for heavier loads, it is steamed during manufacture. As in the case of the original, made in the 1920s, these shoe racks are assembled using the (increasingly rare) rounded-head screws crafted from solid brass (not glued, permitting the rack to be disassembled whenever you choose). The planed wooden rods are sanded before they are oiled. The wood is then oiled using natural linseed oil and the surface is once again smoothed using fine sandpaper.
