Lefa is a well-known, reliable leather substitute. Milled pieces of leather, latex and oils are combined to produce lefa, 90–95% of which are natural products. Today it is most commonly found in toe-caps and insoles, but we see no reason to hide it. It makes a perfect base on which to write, particularly if you are using a ball-point pen. It is highly flexible (so it does not crack), warm to the touch, moisture and grease repellent. The surface gives a little when you write on it.
