Long-awaited comeback of the legendary ‘Silver Graef’ with its hand-operated slicing wheel, a full 19 cm in diameter. The Silver Graef has not been seen for some years following the ‘pensioning off’ of one of the traditional machine tools necessary in its production. But now it’s back again in honour of Graef’s 50th anniversary, and we at Manufactum are privileged to be able to have it back in our catalogue in unchanged quality. Here are its special features: with larger slicers, particularly important to ensure an optimal relationship between the size of the slicing wheel, the length of the turning handle and the gearing ratio. Graef have managed to achieve this with a slicing wheel – 19 cm in diameter and 1.6 mm thick – of a size and strength that you’d normally only find in a professional, electrical all-purpose slicer. The machine comes in a solid, all-metal construction resting on a steel underframe with easily replaceable rubber suction pads. The grip on the handle has a black wooden finish. The circular slicer has a serrated edge allowing the user to slice bread, cheese or sausage to the precise thickness required anywhere between wafer-thin and finger-sized (say 14 mm): a lateral sliding knob makes the necessary adjustment. The unusually high elevation of the machine means that each slice falls neatly, with no clogging, into the stainless steel tray underneath (180 x 240 mm). We have a spare parts service for the Silver Graef.
