Monopol Cork Puller
Two steel prongs of differing length are inserted between the cork and the neck of the bottle without piercing the cork - so no cork dust or crumbs can fall into the wine. Air slowly enters the bottle and the cork can be pulled, thus avoiding a sudden collision of wine and air - the audible »pop« you hear when using a conventional corkscrew. Also suitable for very long or fragile corks. It can also be used to replace corks.

When designers decide to take another look at long-established everyday appliances, the results are usually pretty tedious. It is another matter when engineers and inventors are similarly driven- particularly when it comes to corkscrews.
The results are almost always eccentric, yet endearing and, from a technical point of view, often amazing - although construction costs do tend to get out of hand when one considers their commonplace purpose in life. But then, what is »commonplace« for a wine drinker when he is uncorking bottles? After all, rituals often demand a little extravagance.
