Real combed flannel – based on a 1890 design. From Thrie Estaits, Hawick, Scottish Borders.

We found the design and material – dating from 1890 – in the Thrie Estaits weaving mill in Scotland, and they have re-created it here for us. The material is really something to write home about – combed flannel in a herring-bone weave of superfine merino wool, relatively thick and weighty for a ladies' garment, yet with a soft, pleasant and decidedly un-heavy feel: at the same time sturdy and crease-resistant.
The sewing at the hems provides a nice contrast to the basically dark grey flannel, which has been enhanced with brown and green tones that take up the colour of whatever garment it is combined with.

Our ladies' blazer – with fascinating details.

Classic ladies' blazer, lightly fashioned, with 3 front buttons. Unusual – 2 rear vents. All front hems at collar and outside pockets have been given decorative stitching (AMF).The sleeves have been finished with 4 small buttons and mitred corners. Two outside flap pockets and a breast pocket, two inside integrated button-down pockets.
