Terracotta Tile Clematis Root Protector
The worst enemy of the clematis is the sun: too much radiation at the roots leads to dehydration. Here is a clever yet simple remedy from England – a ‘half pot’. Take the terracotta tile and dig about one-third of it down in front of the clematis. This will keep the sun’s rays off the roots.
