Nails and panel pins.Although often referred to as nails, panel pins do not taper from head to tip as do nails. They are usually cold moulded and rarely hot forged. These are forged nails of quality.

We have shown previously that lesser-grade steel and iron are superior to stainless steel, for example for cutting and cooking. You can see from these items that crude iron has an aesthetic charm all of its own.
