Fine Piqué Cotton by Armor Lux.
The beautiful summery fine piqué material used by Armor Lux (based in Quimper, France) is woven from long-staple Egyptian cotton using only a ring-spun knit for longer life and extra smoothness. This combination of lightness and fineness, good looks (they keep their shape!) and durability is absolutely characteristic of Armor Lux garments. Another plus: the fine piqué stitching is unaffected by washing.

Linen ‘Knitted in Scotland’.
Linen flax is a rather ‘contrary’ natural fibre that traditionally had to be knitted by hand, if at all. It is only recently that a few producers have found ways to machine-knit linen – one of these is a Scottish Lowlands firm that we’ve chosen for this fully-fashioned, simple, lightweight pullover. A mixture of light and dark-coloured thread in blue or beige has been used to make a fairly firm Mouliné yarn with a really beautiful ‘deep’ changing shade effect.

No stripes, (almost) no buttons – a real fisherman’s shirt.
Proper fishermen’s shirts – that is, without arty-crafty ‘details’ – are hard to come by nowadays. Hence this model that we’ve had made for us in the classic ‘Vareuse’ (shirt-blouse) style. These shirts used to be made of sail-cloth leftovers, a bit too heavy for today’s wearer, so we’ve used Belgian linen from Libeco for our fisherman’s shirt – in extra-heavy quality, however, (210 g/sq.m.) in deference to tradition.
Cut and Specifications.
A simple, comfortable shirt with V-neck and one-piece collar. Traditionally, fishermen’s shirts have no front buttons or similar appendages (these might get caught at work!), and we’ve kept to this tradition. There’s a single button (with loop) on the inside to close the neck if required, also one inside breast pocket.
Generous width and length. Single-button slit cuffs. Genuine horn buttons. Generous quilted hem. Canvas weave 100% linen (210 g/sq.m. Fineness Nm 20). Back length 75 cm (size M). Size XS (46), S (48), M (50), L (52), XL (54), XXL (56), EXL (58/60). Natural or blue. » shop now... 142,00 GBP
